BECAME HER LEGACY .
On the 14th February 2020, a tragic swimming pool accident claimed the life of Darcey Elizabeth Sunshine Doig, just 2 months before her 4th birthday. A keen, competent little swimmer, an accident with other children led to a brief moment of distraction. A brief moment is all it takes, for lives to irreversibly change.

Darcey's short life inspired those who loved her to "be more Darcey", live each day bravely, and spread a little sunshine.
​
In the wake of her loss, Darcey's devastated parent's knew their daughter's middle name must become her legacy, creating a safer future for vulnerable children.
​
In November 2020, The Darcey Sunshine Foundation was registered, and January 2021 saw the first Sunshine Kids enter the pool with Jo Jo swimming academy in Somerset West.
​
Each year, new swim schools have signed up to help us spread the sunshine, reaching children from vulnerable communities with this life saving education.
