SUNSHINE BARS

Nutrition is a vital part of every child's development.  For this reason, we ensure every child leaves their survival swim lesson with a healthy, nutritious snack, in the form of a Sunshine Bar.  Made with love by the local community from donated ingredient, each bar is packed with a nutritional punch.  Why not get involved and make us a batch or donate some ingredients? THIS SIMPLE ENERGY BAR RECIPE PACKS A NUTRITIONAL PUNCH!! FULL OF FIBRE, HEALTHY FATS, PROTEIN AND VITAMINS, IT'S SURE TO GIVE OUR LITTLE SWIMMERS THE FUEL THEY NEED TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THEIR DAY!  THIS IS THE RECIPE I USE, HOWEVER FEEL FREE TO TRY YOUR OWN HOME RECIPE IF YOU HAVE A NUTRITIONAL BAR THAT YOU LOVE!

1 1/2 CUPS OF QUICK COOK OATS

3/4 CUP CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER (CAN REPLACE WITH SEED BUTTER IF NUT ALLERGIES)

1/2 CUP HONEY

1 TSP VANILA EXTRACT

1/4 CUP SUNFLOWER SEEDS (OR DESICCATED COCONUT)

1 1/4 CUP MIX INS (RAISINS, CHOPPED NUTS, CHOCOLATE CHIPS, CRANBERRIES,YOUR CHOICE, GO WILD!!)

1)  LINE A DISH WITH BAKING PAPER, LEAVE 2 SIDES OVER HANGING FOR EASY REMOVAL

2) GENTLY HEAT THE PEANIT BUTTER AND HONEY AND WHISK UNTIL RUNNY AND SMOOTH, ADD VANILA AND ALLOW TO COOL SLIGHTLY.

3) MIX IN ALL THE DRY INGREDIENTS AND STIR TO COMBINE THOROUGHLY.

5) PRESS THE MIXTURE INTO THE DISH, PUSHING DOWN HARD, CREATING A COMPACT BAR, REFRIGERATE 1 HOUR.

6) LIFT OUT OF PAN AND CUT INTO 12 BARS.

7) INDIVIDUALLY WRAP EACH BAR IN PARCHMENT PAPER/ PAPER BAG, POP IN BAG AND CONTACT US TO ARRANGE DELIVERY/ PICK UP.
